CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

Buyer/Purchaser - Plainfield, NJ Expand
Overview: The Buyer/Purchaser ensures that all Parker divisions have the materials and supplies required to conduct business on a daily and contractual basis; material must be obtained in a timely fashion while securing the best price and quality for the job as indicated by work orders and contracts.
Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate best pricing, especially for large orders, quantity items, and custom grown materials.
  • Track inventory levels in greenhouse and stock rooms. Use material we have in stock before new when possible.
  • Work on processes to improve work and paper flow between departments.
  • Purchase orders and invoices need to be reconciled and processed in a timely fashion to ensure we take advantage of discounts and remain in good standing with vendors.
  • Communicate with sales, operations and installation with regards to status of orders, substitutions, and specifications.
  • Maintain records of items bought, costs, vendors, and inventories.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality and reliability. Maintain healthy vendor relationships as well as develop new vendor connections.
  • Prebook, follow up and schedule seasonal interior and exterior plants.
  • Develop purchasing strategies and identify buying trends.
  • Continually look for ways to save money.
  • Keep inventory levels down.
  • Inspect weekly Florida truck, weekly flowers and seasonal materials.
  • Some travel required.
  • Additional duties as assigned
Skills:
  • Excel – basic excel functions, chart.
  • Communication – able to communicate in person, on phone or via text. Build relationships with growers. Work with sales and techs for job fulfillment
  • Math/accounting - Able to convert between pieces and cases, reconciling of purchase orders, packing lists and invoices
  • Detail oriented – follow up on outstanding work orders and purchase orders. Ordering proper quantity and colors when applicable
  • Strong Interpersonal skills

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates all company core values
  • 3-5 years of purchasing experience
  • Plant knowledge is preferred

  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
Physical/Environmental Elements: Physically able to work seated for extended periods of time, ability to stoop, crouch, reach, grasp, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions. The employee will be subject to noise and a warehouse environment.

Exterior Landscape Service Technician - Philadelphia Area Expand
Parker is in search of a dedicated Exterior Landscape Service Technician to join our team in the Philadelphia area. We are looking for reliable and motivated workers with a willingness to learn. We will train the right candidate. Every day is different, and priorities change throughout the season.
Duration: May through November
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Ability to work in all seasonal conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Operate landscape hand equipment and power equipment
  • Install landscape materials & plantings
  • Watering, pruning, mowing, raking, weeding, flower bed maintenance, trimming, fertilizing, spring/fall clean ups
  • Pesticide applicator or operator license preferred but not required
  • Mandatory weekend and off-hour work during our Holiday season (Nov-Jan)
Qualifications:
  • Horticultural: 1 year (Preferred) Landscaping: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Must have valid driver’s license and MVR must be within policy guidelines
  • Pay commensurate with skill level, experience, motivation, and passion.
  • Must have strong work ethic, be detail oriented and have a positive attitude
  • Must always provide exceptional customer service and build relationships
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test and background screen in accordance with local laws
  • Reliable transportation

Physical/Environmental elements for this position: Applicant must be able to do the following for most of the shift: Lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. with ability to push or pull carts up to 100 lbs., bend, kneel, stand, and walk, use stairs and ladders, drive, use hand tools, push and pull, reach overhead, and twist, etc. The work environment will vary for each job, the majority of work will be outside IE subject to weather conditions (cold or hot temperatures, rain), loud noises, etc. We are an equal opportunity employer. We are currently seeking a Part Time Horticulturist Service Technician in the King of Prussia, Philadelphia and surrounding areas. You will visit customer locations to care for their interior plants and Green Walls. The job primarily consists of checking in with the client, testing the plants for water, and grooming the plants. There is a lot of walking so you will get your steps in! Parker provides all the equipment required.

Installation Manager - Plainfield, NJ Expand
We are all passionate about delivering high-quality installations and exceptional customer service, and we're seeking an experienced and dedicated Installation Manager to join our dynamic team.
Job Overview:
The Installations Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of our installation operations, ensuring smooth and seamless execution of projects. This position requires close collaboration with various departments, including sales, project management, and design teams, as well as overseeing the installation crew. If you're an organized, proactive problem-solver with strong leadership skills and experience in the installation or landscaping industry, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
  • Crew Oversight: Lead and supervise the installation crew to ensure efficient, high-quality work.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team, designers, regional managers, and project managers to ensure installations meet Parker’s standards and customer expectations.
  • Scheduling: Manage the scheduling of installations, flower deliveries, and holiday installations.
  • Customer Relations: Handle customer complaints or concerns and resolve issues promptly.
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct yearly performance reviews for installers, provide feedback, and implement any necessary improvements.
  • Hiring & Training: Recruit, hire, and train new installers, ensuring they meet Parker’s standards.
  • Certification Management: Ensure installers maintain current certifications, including DOT physical cards, 30-hour OSHA Construction Card, NYC SST Supervisors Card, and Lift Certification.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits when necessary to evaluate progress or resolve any issues.
  • Bidding Assistance: Support in the bidding and estimating process for new installations.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Proven experience in a managerial role within installations, landscaping, or construction.
  • Licensing & Certifications:
  • Must have a current, valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to drive all company vehicles (16’ box truck, 26’ box truck-non CDL, vans, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain a DOT physical card, 30-Hour OSHA Construction Card, NYC SST Supervisors Card, and Lift Certification.
Schedule:
  • Work hours depend on the season. Weekends and off hours are mandatory during our Holiday season which runs between November-mid January. Start/ends times also vary pending client requirements.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Interior Plant Service Technician - Princeton Area Expand
We are currently seeking a Full Time Interior Plant Service Technician in the Princeton/New Brunswick area to join the Parker Team.
You will visit customer locations to care for their interior plants and green walls. The job primarily consists of, testing the plants for water, grooming the plants as necessary and checking in with the client before you leave the site . There is a lot of walking in some of these jobs so you will get your steps in!
Parker provides all the equipment required to service the plants in the accounts. Previous experience is a plus
This is an entry level position with Parker. We prefer to promote from within. If you have the drive there are many opportunities here.
Qualifications:
  • You must have strong work ethic, be detail orientated and have a positive attitude
  • You must provide exceptional customer service at all times and build relationships
  • You must have the ability to follow instructions
  • You must pass background screen and drug test
  • You must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
  • If you are willing to put in the windshield time and drive out of the basic area a company car maybe assigned to you
  • You must meet all company Motor Vehicle Requirements (MVR)
